Dimension groups

The Dimension Groups page allows you to create dimension groups, which are the links between dimensions and dimensional accounts. You can link up to three dimensions simultaneously within a dimension group. By using dimension groups, you have the ability to control and limit the number of accounts that are associated with the relevant dimensions.

To access the Dimension Groups page, click Configuration > Analytical Dimensions > Dimension Groups.

The left-side panel lists all available dimensions groups.

The right-side panel contains the fields that are used to add new dimension groups and display the parameters of a selected dimension group, i.e. the dimensions used and the accounts linked to them.

Create a dimension group

1. Click to create a new group.

2. Enter a Code. Max 25 alphanumeric characters, and Name for the dimension group.

3. To activate the dimension group, select .

4. In the Dimension fields, using the drop-down list, choose the dimensions you want to link. You can add up to three dimensions at once.

5. Click . All the accounts defined to use dimensions in the Chart of Accounts are listed in the Available table below.

6. In the Available table select the account codes you want to include in the dimension group. You can select all accounts by selecting the checkbox in the header of the list, or use filters to refine the accounts displayed.

7. Click to transfer the selected codes from the Available table to the Selected table.

     Note:  If you need to exclude account codes from the dimension group, in the Selected table, just select the account code you want to exclude and click to transfer them back to the Available table.
